Join us for an Access All Areas event on Tuesday 24 February from 10:30 to 14:30 at Production Park in Wakefield. This will be a comprehensive introduction to CoSTAR Live Lab's team, facilities and expertise, as well as an exciting talk from creative industry IP expert, Erica Wolfe-Murray. Through a combination of tours, talks and networking, we hope to showcase what CoSTAR is all about and, crucially, how we can support you and your organisation.

CoSTAR Live Lab is an innovative R&D facility based at Production Park near Wakefield. Live Lab is part of the £75m government-funded CoSTAR Network, and supports innovation in immersive, multisensory and interactive technologies to transform audience experience, shaping next-generation live experiences for screen, stage and into the metaverse.

Create it, own it, earn from it!

At this event, we also welcome IP innovator, Erica Wolfe-Murray, who will deliver an exciting talk about ownership of creative outputs. Every creative business, freelancer and practitioner will produce a myriad of creative outputs during their career. But what is it that you actually own? What can you do with it and how can it all contribute to your long-term commercial resilience? In this fast-paced session, Erica will give you short, sharp, smart ways of re-thinking what you already own and could own in the future.

Erica Wolfe-Murray is the founder of innovation studio, Lola Media. Erica works with creative founders, practitioners and artists across the breadth of the creative, cultural and tech sectors using her unique methodology. Her no-nonsense smart reappraisal of how intellectual property can build commercial resilience - no matter your size or genre - gives a truly different perspective on future outcomes. With clients ranging from design to VR games studios, from tattoo artists to social enterprises, from forward-looking councils to BFI-funded accelerators, she’s helped founders launch new products and services, secure investment, and find direct audiences they can serve in fresh ways. She is also the author of Simple Tips, Smart Ideas: Build a Bigger, Better Business a handbook written specifically for the UK’s 5m freelancers and micro businesses, which was a finalist in the 2020 Business Book Awards.

Event timings:

This is a hybrid event and, as such, we advise that those joining us online log onto the zoom link in time for Erica’s talk, which will take place between 1-2pm. If you’re joining us in person, we ask that you arrive for the event by 10:30 am, to allow us time to greet you and guide you to our Live Lab facility. The main programme will be finished by 2:30 pm, but there will be an optional chance to network and have follow-up conversations with our team and other attendees in the CentR Stage Cafe afterwards. This will be an excellent opportunity to engage with our speakers, fellow attendees and to meet the CoSTAR Live Lab team.
